Christmas and Christmas Break 2013

We had a great Christmas this year! We have been so blessed this year and are so grateful for all of our blessings. I love my little family and I hope they have good memories of their childhood when they are all grown up. We had our traditional Christmas Eve festivities of sub sandwiches, veggies and dips, chips and a fun drink! The kids were so excited for Santa and had a hard time going to sleep that night! I think they finally settled down and went to bed around 10 pm!

Vaughn and I were woken up around 1:30 to the boys playing in the living room. They had woken up and found that Santa had already come! They didn't bother to wake us up, just went and started looking at everything. We were so tired, we just yelled from our room for them to go back to bed. They did and then woke up again around 7:30. That time they came into our room and we made them lay with us until Taysom woke up. We didn't have to wait long. Once we had Taysom up we all went out and the fun chaos began!

Our traditional German pancakes!

Sam loves her new baby doll! She made sure to put her down for naps, all day long! Santa did an awesome job on her Christmas this year! Score!!

The boys had a lot of building things and they spent most of the day at the table working away on their projects! It was a very quiet and nice Christmas day!

Usually my mom comes up for Christmas and this year she decided not too (boooo!), so the kids and I decided to go down there. Vaughn didn't have to work, but we had so many projects to do, so we decided he would stay home where he could work without interruptions and I'd take the kids to Utah.

So we left on Thursday, the day after Christmas. On our way down we stopped in Bountiful to wish Grandma and Grandpa Hixson merry Christmas! The kids were excited to show them some of the things they received for Christmas and were excited to empty our stocking that Gr & Gr Hixson gave us.

So cute!

Sam, Mason and Drew with their giraffe's. They were so proud of them!

They had a slumber party on a raised airbed in Grandma Linkenhoker's tv room! They were so excited to sleep somewhere different.

Taysom slept in the pack n'play in my room. He is stinkin' cute when he sleeps!

The next morning Sam and the boys stayed him with Grandpa Linkenhoker and Taysom and I went shopping with my mom and sister, Connie. One of the stops we made was to Ikea in Draper.

Taysom LOVED the meatballs from Ikea! He ate most of mine and then some of my moms! He was so good at Ikea! At the very end he started getting fussy, but who could blame him?! That store is huge and takes forever to get through!

We stayed for a couple of days and then headed back on Saturday. The kids did great traveling back. Drew was the only one that stayed awake the whole time, so it was a quiet drive. I love love love and appreciate that my kids are awesome travelers! It especially makes it easier for me to travel by myself!

After Sam took a bath she didn't want to put her panties on, but Taysom did! He was strutting his stuff all around the house! He was so funny! He cried when I took them off! I'll have to remind him of this when he is in high school!

Max spent a lot of time in with us as well. The kids loved it, me not so much. It is hard to try and keep up with all the hair that he sheds. Ugh. It's so annoying!

Two peas in a pod! They are such great friends!

Love this kids smile!

I love this picture! He just thinks he is the coolest thing! Which he is! He makes us all laugh and smile!

Here is the real color of Sam's dresser. The lighting make's a HUGE difference! While we were gone Vaughn painted her room and hung a board with hooks. I need to take some pictures of that.  She came home and put her hands over her mouth in awe and said "Oh my goodness! It beautiful!" She is so funny!
