Happy 3rd Birthday, Sammie!

Our baby girl is 3 today! We love her so much and I just had to get some pictures of her before I procrastinated the day away! She didn't want to sit still for me, so we were all over the yard trying to get some pictures! She cracks me up and I am so glad that she is my daughter!

Trip Home

Last weekend we decided it was time to go home to visit for Mother's Day. It has been so long since we've been down and it just felt like it was time. We took Sam over to the JEEP school (that's a whole other post) and then picked up Drew from School early and headed out.

Saturday, Vaughn had a list of things to do for his mom and so I snuck away with the kids with my mom, Heaven & Weston to the Discovery Gateway. I remember going there as a kid and now that they are in their somewhat new location I wondered if it was as awesome as I remember it!

As I was getting everyone ready Tays had a huge blowout! It was all over him and me! Doesn't look like he minded very much, right? He is always so happy!

Sweet boy!

Mason pushed this broom around and around and around.
I think I need to buy him one!

Sam was in love with this little house!

Drew looked so grown up working in the grocery store!

Heaven was having as much fun as the kids!

There is a special section for kids 3 and under and when I took Sam in to check it out, this is what I found! This guy was sawing logs in the "nursing area"!  Luckily, later when I needed to feed Tays this guy was gone!

Had to take a picture of all the kids by the postal service area!
This was for you Grandpa Linkenhoker!

Upstairs they were having a science workshop. They had five different stations and when you completed all five you got to pick a prize and you got a medal. Sam and I worked as a team, but she had a lot of fun doing them. She was excited when she got her gold medal!

Mason may have finally grown out of the funny faces stage for every picture that is taken of him, unfortunately, Sam has now entered that stage. So lovely.

Our future newscaster!

Or meteorologist!

After playing we headed back to Bountiful. We usually try and drive past our old house. I was so glad to see that whomever is living there now is taking care of it. It went through a pretty ugly and neglected period. This was our first house and we loved it! Out of our three houses, this is still Vaughn's favorite. When he saw the picture he said he would buy it if it ever goes on the market again. I told him that that would be a super long commute!!

For dinner we headed up to Farmington and had dinner at Vaughn's sister's house. It was such a great night and we had a yummy dinner on their back patio!

Looking at this picture I think I look angry, but really, Sam had just put some lip gloss on me and I was showing her how to rub her lips together!

One thing I must say is that I have amazing nephews (and nieces!) that are interact so well with the younger cousins. I admire all of them so much for their willingness to play with my kids and to give them attention and make them feel like they are special. My kids are so lucky to have them as cousins!

Just us. Chillaxin'

Taysom was so funny with this tape measurer! Johnathan would stretch it out to him and let him almost reach it and then let it snap back to him! Taysom was just laughing and laughing!!

Sunday we were able to go to church in Bountiful with Vaughn's parents and it was really nice. I ran home during Sunday school to start getting ready to go home and Vaughn and the kids stayed for primary. While they were walking the kids to primary, the president saw Sam and came up and took her hand and led her right to class. She must have thought she was older (which she does look like she is 3 or 4) because she took her to sunbeams and not to nursery! From what I heard she did awesome in the class!

On our way home she started singing "Do as I'm Doing" and I was amazed! I asked Vaughn where she had learned that song and that is when he told me about her going to primary! For a girl that is speaking on less than a 20 month old vocabulary, it was awesome!

Randomness

While downloading the pictures off my phone into iPhoto I found some cute pictures that really don't go along with a post.

Sam is all about taking my phone and taking pictures and videos of herself! I never know what I will find when I get my phone back.

Mason is super cool in his sunglasses from preschool. They had a summer safety day and he came home all ready for summer! I wish you could smell this kid! He had so much sunscreen on! It just finished off the whole summer outfit!

Taysom is such a good sleeper! He is so adorable. I usually take a picture of him sleeping every day. Probably over the top, but I just don't want to miss one cute face or precious sleeping moment!!

Drew is ALWAYS right

Seriously, this kid 'thinks' he knows it all. I'm sure there are a lot of other kids the same way, but it is one of our biggest struggles is trying to teach him that he doesn't know everything and he isn't always right. The following conversation just made me laugh. Of course Drew would say and feel this way!!

He was in trouble for doing something (that I can't remember now) wrong. He was throwing a fit and throwing quite the fit. He was crying and crying and kept saying he was sorry.

Drew: What does sorry even mean?
Me: It means that you are sad and you were wrong in what you said or did.
Drew: Oh man, I will never say I'm sorry again!

Game Night

While my mom was over sitting with my Grandma Bingham, Vaughn was awesome to watch the kids, so I could go over and spend some time with both my Grandma and my mom. Which I so appreciate! He is the best!

While we were sitting there I suggested that we should play a game. It has been such a long time since I have played games with my grandma and I have so many memories of doing that in her home while I was growing up. She loves games and I didn't have to talk her or Malita into it. My mom on the other hand had to be practically dragged over to the table!

Breana and me!

And Tays!
He wasn't feeling well, but he was a good sport!

We stayed while my mom helped get my grandma into bed and then we headed home. I love when my mom is up here and I love spending time with my grandma. I need to be better about getting over there and visiting her. It would have been fun to play with Aunt Ilene too, but maybe we can do it another time. (Sorry we kind of made ourselves at home in your home Aunt Ilene!)

Fun with Grandma Linkenhoker and Sick Tays

This last weekend we were excited for my mom to come up. She was really coming up to take care of her mom and my grandma Bingham, but we got to see her off and on during the weekend. She brought up my niece, Breana and on Friday night Vaughn took all the kids, minus Tays, to the drive in! He is such a good daddy and uncle! The kids were all snug in the car and he sat on his recliner next to the car.

Saturday Tays woke up with pink eye. By the end of the day it had spread to his other eye. Luckily, we had medicine left over from Drew.

He was still so smiley even with his eyes full of goop and him not feeling well. We are so ready for all of our colds to be gone. With the Sam, Tays and I all sick in the last few weeks I am starting to feel like we are inactive. I'm tired of everything lingering and hanging around for longer than it normally. Hopefully, this will be the tail end and we can resume normal life pretty soon!~

I love this curious stage of babies! He will see something and will focus on it so intently! Everything is just so new and exciting to him.

Six Hix

About the time Sam was born I came up with an idea for a custom license plate. The problem was that I had to wait until she grew up and we had another baby! I have been waiting and waiting and finally this year when our car registration was up I finally got to order them!
