Trip Home

Last weekend we decided it was time to go home to visit for Mother's Day. It has been so long since we've been down and it just felt like it was time. We took Sam over to the JEEP school (that's a whole other post) and then picked up Drew from School early and headed out.

Saturday, Vaughn had a list of things to do for his mom and so I snuck away with the kids with my mom, Heaven & Weston to the Discovery Gateway. I remember going there as a kid and now that they are in their somewhat new location I wondered if it was as awesome as I remember it!

As I was getting everyone ready Tays had a huge blowout! It was all over him and me! Doesn't look like he minded very much, right? He is always so happy!

Sweet boy!

Mason pushed this broom around and around and around.
I think I need to buy him one!

Sam was in love with this little house!

Drew looked so grown up working in the grocery store!

Heaven was having as much fun as the kids!

There is a special section for kids 3 and under and when I took Sam in to check it out, this is what I found! This guy was sawing logs in the "nursing area"!  Luckily, later when I needed to feed Tays this guy was gone!

Had to take a picture of all the kids by the postal service area!
This was for you Grandpa Linkenhoker!

Upstairs they were having a science workshop. They had five different stations and when you completed all five you got to pick a prize and you got a medal. Sam and I worked as a team, but she had a lot of fun doing them. She was excited when she got her gold medal!

Mason may have finally grown out of the funny faces stage for every picture that is taken of him, unfortunately, Sam has now entered that stage. So lovely.

Our future newscaster!

Or meteorologist!

After playing we headed back to Bountiful. We usually try and drive past our old house. I was so glad to see that whomever is living there now is taking care of it. It went through a pretty ugly and neglected period. This was our first house and we loved it! Out of our three houses, this is still Vaughn's favorite. When he saw the picture he said he would buy it if it ever goes on the market again. I told him that that would be a super long commute!!

For dinner we headed up to Farmington and had dinner at Vaughn's sister's house. It was such a great night and we had a yummy dinner on their back patio!

Looking at this picture I think I look angry, but really, Sam had just put some lip gloss on me and I was showing her how to rub her lips together!

One thing I must say is that I have amazing nephews (and nieces!) that are interact so well with the younger cousins. I admire all of them so much for their willingness to play with my kids and to give them attention and make them feel like they are special. My kids are so lucky to have them as cousins!

Just us. Chillaxin'

Taysom was so funny with this tape measurer! Johnathan would stretch it out to him and let him almost reach it and then let it snap back to him! Taysom was just laughing and laughing!!

Sunday we were able to go to church in Bountiful with Vaughn's parents and it was really nice. I ran home during Sunday school to start getting ready to go home and Vaughn and the kids stayed for primary. While they were walking the kids to primary, the president saw Sam and came up and took her hand and led her right to class. She must have thought she was older (which she does look like she is 3 or 4) because she took her to sunbeams and not to nursery! From what I heard she did awesome in the class!

On our way home she started singing "Do as I'm Doing" and I was amazed! I asked Vaughn where she had learned that song and that is when he told me about her going to primary! For a girl that is speaking on less than a 20 month old vocabulary, it was awesome!
