Last Day of School & Kindergarten Graduation

The last day of school for the boys! It is crazy how fast this past year went!

Craziest three boys ever!

Especially the littlest one!!
He is by far the craziest!

Mason in his cute graduation hat!!
He absolutely loved kindergarten and his teacher!

When did he grow up?!
I can't believe he is moving up to first grade. That means he'll be gone all day. Will he miss me as much as I will miss him??

Mason & Mrs. Tammy Dey.
We have loved her and are so glad Drew & Mason have both had her for their kindergarten classes.

This is out of order, but Mason receiving his certificate from Mrs. Dey!

Another picture of the two of them.

Mrs. Dey always had the nicest, sweetest things to say about Mace. When I would see her while visiting Drew's class, she would tell me things that Mason had said that made her laugh. She said he always made her laugh and she loves his little personality!!

My sweet boy!

Mason and his best friend, Abby H.
They have always been partners in crime! He is definitely her protector and watches out for her no matter what!

Spelling Bee

This year Drew took first place in his class in the spelling bee! With that he was invited to compete in the spelling bee for the whole 2nd grade! They took just the winners and runner ups from each class. It was quite the accomplishment for him!!

He looked so cute up there spelling his words!
I wish I could remember what words he had to spell!

Tays couldn't care less! He goal was to make as much noise as possible!

Smarty pants!

So it was down to the final three kids and the girl that went before him spelled her word wrong. Then Drew was given the word 'dollar'. He got flustered and said, "d-a...d-o-l-l-a-r". The rules are that you can start over but you can't change any letters. So unfortunately, he missed that word. The girl after Drew spelled her word correctly and was the automatic winner.

Since the girl before him missed her word, as did he, they had to have a spell off to see who would take 2nd place. She was given a word and sadly, she missed it. They gave that same word to Drew and he spelled it correctly!! Drew took 2nd place for the whole 2nd grade! I am sad he flubbed on dollar, but seriously, the pressure these kids were under was crazy. I know that I would NEVER had been able to do it as well as they all did!! It was sad to see the disappointment and the tears.

Sleeping Beauties

The boys were grounded to their room until they got it clean. After a half hour or so it got really quiet. These are how I found my little beauties!

Mason's note says something about "my headache really hurts, please give me medicine"
I love how he leaves a note for me. But it makes me feel really sad that I didn't know he had a headache and didn't give him medicine.

Later I found these two cuddled up again.
Seriously so cute!

Books

Mason is learning how to read and Taysom comes running whenever he hears Mason or me reading a book.

These two are such great friends.
It just warms my heart to see Mason play with Tays.

Back Tracking

I am going to "attempt" to catch up on my blog!
Let's jump back to May 26th.

So I have a new shopping partner!

This little girl is going to be a fashionista and she didn't get it from me!! She went behind a rack and when she came back to me she was decked out! I kind of chuckled and told her she needed to go put the purse and hat back, she looked down at the purse and touched the hat and said, "but I look beautiful mom."
Yes, sweet girl, you do!!

And as a side note that I want to remember. This was also the store that she shoplifted from! We were half way down the mall when I noticed that she had a bracelet in her hand. I marched her back into the store, but it was really busy and we couldn't get the attention of any workers. So....we put the bracelet back where it belonged and walked out. I know I missed a teaching opportunity, but she returned it and we talked about making bad choices. What would you have done? At least I tried, right???

Life as of late

Life has been crazy busy lately. While I have been itching to blog and get caught up there have been many more pressing things to take care of. I am hoping that when school starts I will get it all updated, not so much so I can share what we've been up to, but because I don't want to forget the sweet memories of my kids, family and friends.

Memorial Week-end

Since my mom was diagnosed with cancer it really put things into perspective. We've had more trips to Salt Lake and have tried to do more things to make memories with my kids and the other two grandkids on the Linkenhoker side. You just realize that this life is precious and we often take it for granted.

Our original plan was to head up to Redfish, where I would be running a 5k, but that, like most of our other plans, changed. We decided we needed to be in Salt Lake and so that is what we did. We asked my mom what she wanted to do and she wanted to take the kids to some parks and let them play and experience them. Here are just a few of the many pictures we took.

This little lake in Daybreak was awesome. We totally should have packed their swimming suits. Not like it mattered much. They didn't mind getting their clothes wet.

We enjoyed playing at the different parks and the kids loved going to new places. It was a fun weekend and we're grateful we were able to spend it with my mom.
